"On the Tip of My Tongue"
For quite some time now, it's been widely recognized that there's something not right in the head with Matthew and George. Sure, these childhood friends are able to display the facade of being semi-normal when they have to; and the music they play together (with Lee) is lively and enjoyable, but they are a little ‘off’ so to speak. Through the years, both have well adapted to masking their silliness in social settings. But when left to their own devices, these two yuck it up like 3rd grade boys on a field trip to a yo-yo factory. One consistent example of their adolescent shenanigans is their fondness for licking the ice sculptures at various upscale gigs. No one is exactly why they started this, but it’s certain that if there’s a block of ice in a ballroom then there will be tongue. Matthew and George consider themselves gentlemen, so they often ask permission to perform the ritual, but there are instances when covert measures are required to satisfy this compulsion.
For those of you reading who may have sanitary
concerns for George and Matthew, don’t worry -
They usually do their 'ice licking' at the end
of an event. After four hours of the ice blocks
melting under lights, the sculptures are ‘clean’
from any ‘handler residue’. These two fantasize
about someday playing an event in an ice hotel
in Sweden.
So
for now, Matthew and George will have to settle for
sticking their tongues smaller, domestic works
of ice. Click this flicking tongue graphic
